Harlow Council haa given Harlow Parkrun permission to return.

Councillor Joel Charles, Deputy Leader of Harlow Council, said:

“We have given permission for the safe return of Harlow parkrun in the Town Park from the 5th of June. Thanks must go to the local parkrun organisers for working closely with us to complete the required risk assessments. These assessments are important because they provide clarity about how Harlow parkrun can resume in a way that maintains public safety and meets the conditions set out in the Government rules for outdoor activities and events.

“Harlow parkrun has always been a popular weekend event. It is important to encourage more people to get outdoors as lockdown restrictions continue to ease. Running is good for both mental and physical wellbeing. The weekly fun run has been missed in the Town Park and we look forward to its return. Harlow joins over 240 other areas which have given permission so far nationally. An announcement is expected this Friday, 20th of May from parkrun UK about its view on the viability of events being able to return on the 5th of June. Our position is clear – Harlow parkrun can return safely.”
