*** FREE FOR EDITORIAL USE *** Adding some serious colour into the current lockdown, Weetabix On The Go - the UK’s No. 1 breakfast drink - has launched a striking limited edition range of sportswear using 100% recycled bottles, to highlight its new 100% recyclable bottle. The gym kit brightened up the morning of passersby as it was put through its paces for the first time.

Weetabix On The Go, the UK’s No. 1 breakfast drink, has created a limited edition range of sportswear using 100 per cent recycled bottles. The sportswear has been created to highlight Weetabix On The Go’s new 100 per cent recyclable bottle, with the switch set to save 84 tonnes of virgin plastic each year.

The vibrant gym kit has been made from 4,400 bottles and launches to eco-conscious consumers looking to get noticed when working out! Bright, bold and brash, Weetabix On The Go’s sustainable athleisure wear will inject some serious colour into the winter months. Not for the shy, whether going for a run in the park or joining a yoga class via zoom, these kits will certainly mean you’ll stand out from the crowd!

As part of its commitment to reducing single use packaging, Weetabix On The Go has launched its range of sportswear to highlight the redesign of its bottles to make them easier than ever before to recycle. The new fully recyclable design now allows the bottle, cap and sleeve to all be recycled together – ensuring it’s a quick, easy and convenient way for eco-conscious consumers to grab a smooth and tasty on-the-go breakfast. The breakfast drink has also moved to a clear PET bottle, which is made from 30 per cent recycled plastic and features a ‘100% recyclable logo’ on the products’ lid to help consumers confidently recycle.

The striking gym kits combine the iconic yellow of the Weetabix brand with contrasting patterns that incorporate motifs from the on-the-go breakfast drink, including strawberries, bananas, chocolate, vanilla flowers, milk splashes and wheat. Available as leggings, running shorts, t-shirts and vests, a limited edition number of kits are today available to purchase via fashion marketplace Depop, priced from £7. Fitness fanatics can also visit @WeetabixOnTheGo Instagram and Facebook channels in order to be in with the chance to win a full kit.

Charlotte Hunt, Marketing Manager for Weetabix On The Go commented: “There is nothing subtle about our gym kits and the same goes for our commitment to reducing single use packaging. The launch of the new 100 per cent recyclable bottles is one of a number of recent sustainability initiatives from the Weetabix Food Company which makes it easier than ever before for consumers to confidently recycle their packaging and brings us closer to our goal of ensuring 100 per cent of our packaging is recyclable by 2025.”

Weetabix On The Go drinks, featuring the new 100 per cent recyclable bottles, are available to purchase from stockists nationwide, RRP £1.49.
