The best London attractions to visit in autumn/winter

0

With autumn in full swing, and winter just around the corner, there is no doubt that you’re already enjoying the falling golden leaves, crisp mornings and cosy evenings curled up in front of the fire. When you do want to get out in the fresh air, though, London is a beautiful destination to head to. Here are some of our favourite attractions to visit in the capital during these seasons.

Borough Market

While Borough Market is a fantastic place to be all-year-round, there’s just something about it at this time of year. Open Monday-Saturday (and Sundays in December for their extended Christmas hours), this wholesale and retail market hall treasure is the perfect spot to sip on a mulled wine or pick up some lovely delicacies.

Regent’s Park

In north-west London you’ll find one of the city’s largest parks – Regent’s Park. This gorgeous place not only contains central London’s largest outdoor sports area, but it also boasts four children’s play areas, as well as incredible wildlife. Take the kids for a walk there and try to spot one of the many species of wild bird.

London Eye

Get a full view of London at one of the best times of year and hop on the London Eye. From the top, you can take in the mesmerising views of the city’s skyline, as well as watch the world go by down below. The capital is always busy, so it’s always a good idea to reduce any hassle on your day out and purchase your London Eye tickets beforehand.

Notting Hill

One of London’s most desirable areas, Notting Hill is full of charm. From famous restaurants to beautiful theatres, there is something for everyone in this affluent spot. Whether you’d like to head to its well-known market or take pictures of its stunning pastel-coloured houses, there’s plenty to see and do in autumn and winter. If you’re lucky, you may even bump into a celebrity on your day trip!

Kyoto Garden At Holland Park

Known for its magnificent plants that were inspired by a Japanese Garden, Kyoto Garden at Holland Park is another great spot to add to your must-see list. Amongst the Japanese-style landscape you’ll also witness its stunning tiered waterfalls, and pond filled with koi carp. Wrap up warm, grab your wellies and wander round this peaceful place.

Which spot will you be heading to first?
