Podcaster and new mum Nadia Essex has shared how she dropped THREE dress sizes and improved her relationship with food.

The 38 year-old love guru followed MuscleFood’s Weight Loss Plan, named Goal Getter’s and lost one stone, dropping from 10 stone to a nifty nine as well as losing six inches from around her waist.

Before falling pregnant Nadia who is 4’11” used to enjoy cooking, eating out around five times a week and enjoyed a healthy, balanced diet.

During her pregnancy Nadia had craving for sugary food, enjoying as many as three doughnuts a day. She was tested for gestational diabetes which can cause serious problems when it comes to childbirth.

After an emergency C-section before lockdown Nadia returned home with Ezekiel, who’s now six months old.

Single parent Nadia was feeding Ezekiel every two hours and found herself eating sugary snacks and treats to keep her energy up.

Nadia said: “Before Ezekiel I used to love food, for me it was better than sex! I’d never had a sweet tooth before but during pregnancy when the cravings hit I gave my body what it wanted.

“Once we came back home, I kept eating sugary foods to give me the energy that I needed to look after Zeek.

“I’d find myself eating three chocolate bars, two or three packets of crisps and sweets to give me enough energy to keep me going through the day. If I could find a spare five minutes, I would treat myself to a ready meal.”

After a few months Nadia decided that she needed to change her diet in order to look after herself and to be the best mum she could be.

She continued: “I was spending all my time concentrating on Ezekiel and I’d stopped looking after myself. I hated seeing myself in the mirror and decided I needed to change.

“Goal Getter’s was perfect for me as it arrived at my front door all prepared and portioned out. Before, the thought of going to the shops and deciding what to eat was making me anxious but this was great.

“I knew I always had food in the fridge and it was healthy and filling. It gave me the energy I needed to look after Ezekiel as well as being tasty and enjoyable.

“I particularly enjoyed the meal kits as they helped rekindle my love of cooking again. I try to be as environmentally friendly as possible so knowing they were perfectly portioned for one person reduced my food waste massively.”

Nadia also completed home workouts via Zoom with the help of MuscleFood’s personal trainer Steve Ahern, “Steve was great, he was so supportive and I felt completely safe with him.

“I’ve never enjoyed exercise, I find it difficult to motivate myself and stick to a regime. But these were great, bringing the food and exercise together in one programme really helped me.”

MuscleFood’s Goal Getter’s diet and exercise plan sees high intensity workouts combined with low calorie and low-fat meals which are delivered fresh to your door weekly.
