Song lyric greetings card brand unveils new name – Say it with Songs

It worked for Prince, Sean Combs, David Bowie and J.Lo. Heck, even Little Mix joined the club when they were starting out. Changing a brand name after launch might seem a tad confusing but in music (and in the glorious words of Abba) it’s often just the Name of the Game.

Today greetings card brand More Than Words unveils a new moniker, so say Hello (cheers Lionel) to Say it with Songs – exactly the same card brand blending legendary, snappy song-lyrics with streamable songs, exactly the same identity, just a slightly different name and logo. Simple!

Say it with Songs founder Ellie Fitzgerald explains: “After careful consideration post launch, we concluded that the business, brand and customers would benefit from a prompt switch to a more unique and memorable name. Within the highly competitive greetings card market our brand is brilliantly unique so standing out from the crowd is key. Say it with Songs accurately embodies our brand story and differentiates us from our competitors. I’m confident that by tackling this hurdle now will pay dividends in the future.”

About Say it with Songs

Songs have the power to take us back to a time, place or person in just a few notes. From celebrating the good times to consoling us when things get tough, music is comfort food for the ears and soul. It unites us and makes and feel a catalogue of emotions, which is the inspiration behind Say it with Songs, an exciting new greetings card brand featuring the world’s most famous lyrics plus the gift of a song.

On Say it with Songs greetings cards you’ll find a memorable song lyric on the front with a QR code on the back, allowing the recipient to instantly stream the corresponding track through Spotify, YouTube or Amazon Music via a smartphone. From The Beatles to Beyonce and Abba to Arctic Monkeys, every music taste, era and genre is covered with new tracks being uploaded weekly.

And proving in another way that music really does change lives, Say it with Songs is proud to support music therapy charity Nordoff Robbins, which receives a 10% donation from every card sale.

The Say it with Songs story

Founder Ellie Fitzgerald, who has worked in music management for two decades and handled the careers of artists including Alexandra Burke, The Pussycat Dolls star Kimberly Wyatt and JB Gill (JLS), set up the business in March after facing redundancy at the start of lockdown. The idea was sparked by her deep passion for music and a growing national need to bring cheer to loved ones from a distance.

Ellie says: “Say it with Songs is a conscious business created from the desire to make people feel special and connect through music especially now more than ever. I used to make mix tapes for my friends to cheer them up so this is a new, modern way of doing the same. We’ve all realised over the past few months the importance of expressing our emotions to the people we hold closest to our hearts and through Say it with Songs it’s possible to do that through a combination of heartfelt words and music. It’s a unique personalised way of showing those we care about most how much they mean to us.”

British passion for greetings cards

The latest Greeting Cards Agency (GCA) market report revealed that in 2017 the British public spent £1.7 billion on greeting cards. As a nation we buy more cards per person than any other – 33 each annually – and with no other country boasting such a tradition of card-sending or display in the home, there has never been more of a market than now for Say it with Songs.
