Americana singer-songwriter Oh Susanna has released her fourth single ‘River Blue’. The song is accompanied by another hand drawn Behind The Song video, and is taken from the deluxe edition re-release of her critically acclaimed album Sleepy Little Sailor, to be released September 4th 2020.

The album will be available on CD, Digital and, for the first time, on vinyl, featuring the original 11 songs, plus acoustic recordings of 5 of the songs, including the title track.

This latest single is a constant feature at Oh Susanna concerts, and in 1999 at the 19th Genie awards, won the award for Best Original Song after it was featured in the Canadian drama from director Amnon Buchbinder, ‘The Fishing Trip’.

The song deals with the same heavy themes depicted in the film, as Suzie explains, “’River Blue’ is about how child abuse can destroy relationships long after the abuse is over. The song is a plea for reconciliation and forgiveness by an older sister who as a kid tried to save herself at the cost of her sister’s safety. Over two decades later, it still is one of the most requested songs that I have ever written.”
