London Southend Airport today welcomes the return of easyJet flights with the first scheduled departure to Alicante at 10.05am.

easyJet will commence operations with flights to Alicante, Faro, Malaga and Palma during July providing 13 flights each week. Routes are expected to increase during August to also include, Ibiza, Mahon and Pula.

These destinations will join those offered by Ryanair and Wizz who have been operating passenger flights from 1 and 6 July respectively. The easyJet destinations will bring the airport’s complement to 19 destinations in August including Wideroe’s new route to Bergen.

Glyn Jones, CEO Stobart Aviation, “We are pleased to welcome easyJet passengers back to London Southend Airport. The additional destinations allow greater choice and supports existing bookings during the peak season.”

“The majority of flights have been fully booked with European routes being popular for those travelling for a well-earned break as travel restrictions ease. We remind those travelling to check latest flight information via their airline directly during this time as details are subject to change”.

The FCO updated its global advisory against ‘all but essential’ travel, exempting destinations that no longer pose an unacceptably high risk for British travellers. This is a welcome opportunity for families to reunite, business travel and holidays during the summer season.
