Kicking off at 7pm on Wednesday 3rd June, football fans across the UK will be given the chance to score a shirt signed by their favourite Premier League player for as little as £5, as #PlayersTogether today announce the #ShirtsForHeroes charity raffle on eBay UK.

#PlayersTogether is a collective player led initiative set up by Premier League footballers, to bring together players from all clubs to stand as one in support of the frontline NHS workers, volunteers and patients during the coronavirus crisis. The players have now partnered with eBay UK to launch the #ShirtsForHeroes charity raffle which will see signed football shirts from every player in the Premier League raffled off to raise essential funds.

The digital raffle will be the largest signed shirt giveaway in the history of football with all first team players in the Premier League uniting by donating a signed shirt for the good of the fundraising drive. All proceeds will go directly to NHS Charities Together, the national membership organisation for NHS Charities, representing more than 200 member charities.

Raffle tickets will be available to purchase from ebay.co.uk and will cost £5 per ticket, with all proceeds going towards NHS Charities Together. To enter the raffle, simply visit eBay.co.uk/ShirtsForHeroes, and purchase a raffle ticket for the signed players’ shirts of your choice. The raffle ends on Sunday 14th June at 7pm and winners will be selected at random and notified by 1 July, 2020.

The Players of #PlayersTogether jointly stated: “As players, we have been determined as a group to help in any way we can. That’s why we established #PlayersTogether to raise much needed funds for front line carers through NHS Charities Together. This is a player led-initiative, working together collaboratively across all clubs and we are delighted to team up with eBay to offer our signed shirts in the Shirts for Heroes campaign. We hope this is something all fans up and down the country can get involved in and help us raise money to make a difference for the real heroes of this crisis.”

Rob Hattrell, Vice President at eBay UK, said: “On average each year over £26m is raised on eBay UK for community charities by the millions of shoppers who use our site. The partnership with #PlayersTogether supporting NHS Charities Together at a time of such vital need has made us all at eBay UK very proud. We have been inspired by the players’ collective approach and are delighted to hand over our platform to support their brilliant initiative. With 500 signed shirts to give away as prizes we hope that football fans up and down the country will get behind this drive to raise vital funds for our brave and heroic frontline workers who are currently giving everything they have in the fight against Covid-19. I would like to say a massive thank you to the players and clubs for getting behind this campaign for a great cause.”

Ellie Orton, Chief Executive of NHS Charities Together, said: “These are incredibly trying times, especially for those working on the frontline fighting Covid-19, but the outpouring of support from the British public for NHS staff, volunteers and patients has been absolutely incredible. We’re so grateful to #PlayersTogether and can’t wait to see the response to their Shirt for Heroes raffle on eBay. Sport has a wonderful way of bringing people together, and we hope this raffle is a fun way for the millions of football fans to rally around our NHS heroes while having the chance to win one of these amazing signed shirts.”

The announcement of the Shirts For Heroes raffle is the latest commitment under eBay’s ‘Individually Brilliant, Stronger As One’ initiative in response to COVID-19.
