Leading Wickford-based VIP Security Services celebrated 30 years in business with a special visit from Mark Francois MP and the Mayor of Basildon, Cllr David Burton-Sampson at a staff and client reception on 20 September.
The company was founded by Darren Hyde in 1989 and from humble beginnings the business has expanded into one of the largest providers of security services in Essex and east of London.
Mark Francois MP was pleased to see a local company thriving. He says: “VIP Security Services employs over 100 people in the area, which makes them a large employer. Their work helps to keep us all safe and secure and I can see that their hard work has culminated into a very successful enterprise.”
2019 has also been a very successful year for VIP Security Services with a number of new business wins, as well as industry accolades. Darren Hyde, MD, VIP Security Services, explains: “This year has been extra special; not only are we celebrating 30 years in business, we’ve also been awarded a number of industry gongs! Earlier in the year we were presented with the government’s top award within the security industry, the prestigious, Security Industry Authority (SIA) Approved Contractor Scheme (ACS). We also received certification from Construction Line proving our expertise in this sector and we’ve been shortlisted for the Essex Business Excellence Awards for Professional Services.”
He continued: “30 years ago I started up this business from a desk underneath my stairs! Through hard work and determination VIP Security Services has grown into one of the largest suppliers of security services in the area.”
