A new grant scheme set up by the Basildon Borough Health and Wellbeing Partnership aims to fund opportunities to make the community healthier and happier.

The public health grants of up to £5,000 are aimed at directly influencing better health and wellbeing in communities among family, friends and neighbours.

The partnership wants to hear ideas and has set up guidance and support sessions to help shape bids and bring ideas to life.

The scheme, unlike other schemes, will provide participants with a partnership mentor throughout the process.

Councillor Andrew Gordon, Partnership Chairman, said: “If you have an idea about how to make communities healthier and happier, then the Basildon Borough Health and Wellbeing Partnership wants to know. Our partnership wants to support fresh, innovative and radical ideas from the heart of the local community.”

The briefing sessions will be led by Basildon CVS on behalf of the Partnership. They will be held at the George Hurd Centre in Audley Way, Basildon and at the Basildon Centre, St Martin’s Square on the following date:

  • Thursday 13 June – Afternoon and evening sessions available.
