Still time to have your say on proposals for new parish council

Residents are being reminded to have their say on proposals to create a parish council for Wickford.

Letters were delivered last month to homes across the proposed parished area inviting householders to submit their views. They are being asked whether they support the proposal for a parish council and to comment on matters related to any new parish council if established such as the name, the number of councillors to be elected and if the parish should be divided into wards.

Representations for the first stage of the community governance consultation must be received by Friday 10 May.

Written comments can be made by emailing [email protected] or via post to Community Governance Review, Electoral Services, Basildon Council, The Basildon Centre, St Martin’s Square, Basildon, Essex, SS14 1DL.
