St Clare’s Hospice receives a generous donation from local accountants

A team of colleagues from Haslers Chartered Accountants, known by their fundraising name the ‘Taxmaniacs’, have presented a cheque to St Clare’s Hospice following their completion of the 100k Thames Challenge.

Taxmaniacs Meg Abery, Joelle Ewen and Charlotte Keel each took part in a 100km walk along the length of the Thames earlier this year for the Hastingwood hospice and managed to raise more than £1,600 for the charity.

Now several months on from completing their walk the three friends presented a cheque to the hospice, which has been used to purchase an oxygen concentrator.

The concentrator will be used by the hundreds of patients with life-limiting conditions that use St Clare’s services every year.

Speaking about their donation to the hospice, the Taxmaniacs said: “It was a real honour to visit the hospice and deliver the cheque to the team there and it is even more rewarding to know that the money is already being put to good use.”

The Taxmaniacs previously participated in the Colour Run last year, managing to raise £1,245 for the firm’s in-house charity, the Haslers Foundation, which has since been donated to the Dream Factory.
