DOUGIE BRIMSON: A year on from rape allegations that destroyed disgraced writer’s career

In the late 2000’s, Dougie Brimson had built a reputation of delivering edge-of-the-seat mind blowing British film screenplays.

Credited in We Still Kill the Old Way, Top Dog andGreen Street Hooligans 2 to name a few he seemed unstoppable, but the disgraced writer’s reputation has dwindled as a result of the headline-making horrors reported last year.

Rape allegations naming Brimson as the abuser circulated on various social media networks, an expose by Hertfordshire Herald further found chilling tweets in which Brimson comments on pedophilia and Jimmy Saville as being “mildly amusing”.

The expose further exposed how Brimson who is married, had an affair with Louise Sayeh who herself had recently got married in 2017.

Whilst these allegations shook the film industry, Brimson who is widely regarded as an industry outcast had failed to secure writing work since 2014.

A source close to Brimson this week told this outlet “It has been a tough couple of years for Dougie, the hardest part for him now is finding that first job to re-start his film writing career.”

Brimson has now instead been limited to being a social media commentator, as the disgraced writer has been ranting and raving on social networking site Twitter since the rape allegations were unearthed.
