A man has been fined and ordered to pay costs after pleading guilty to flytipping on the public footway at the rear of his property.

Charlie Barnes, 23, of Cotelands, Vange, appeared at Basildon Magistrates Court on Friday 28 September and admitted dumping paving slabs, bricks, cardboard boxes and other waste on or around 12 June 2018 contrary to Section 33(1)(a) and Section 33(6) of the Environmental Protection Act 1990.

A summons was issued for him to attend court after he failed to pay a Fixed Penalty Notice of £200.

Magistrates ordered him to pay the £200 fine, as well as a victim surcharge of £30 and an additional £200 towards prosecution costs.
