A Basildon police officer saved a dog from the cold earlier this week.

PC Abbie Gray saved a dog whilst attending a concern for welfare in Basildon.

During the early hours of Monday, November 13, PC Abbie Gray was called to support the Mental Health Street Triage team at an incident. When arriving at the address, Abbie found a puppy outside in the cold.

Abbie rescued the dog and kept him safe in the police car until the incident was resolved. Abbie has since taken the dog to a temporary location for safekeeping until the owner is well enough to take care of him.

Understandably, the dog was incredibly anxious when it was first found. Besides, it is no secret that some dogs can find being left on their own an overwhelming and stressful experience. Consequently, the dog was given some CBD dog treats to calm its nerves.

In case you were not already aware, CBD products used as medication for dogs can have a calming effect on the nerves and reduce nervous behavior in dogs, especially when these products are used in combination with other calming ingredients or therapies. Above all, reducing feelings of stress is key to helping a dog with anxiety to live a more happy and peaceful life.

Accordingly, as a pet owner, the health of a pet should be the top priority. With this being said, whether it is a UTI In Dogs that needs to be treated, oral hygiene, or improving the health of their coat, there is a lot to think about when it comes to keeping a dog comfortable and clean. It may also be the obvious things like giving them preventatives for worms or fleas, or giving them dog vaccinations for a deterrent against nasty diseases.

Even if circumstances change and the owner is no longer able to care for the animal, there are always shelters that will be able to take the animal in, rather than them being abandoned by their owner.

PC Abbie Gray from Basildon Local Policing Team said: “It’s because of incidents like this that I love my job.”
