A trip to the newly launched Barkingside eatery will leave you satisfied in every way, shape and form.

Capricho Portugese Kitchen holds an authentic portugese cuisine which I found not only filling but very rich in flavour, the chef’s mixture of strong flavours and appetising yet colourful visual presentation across every dishes can only leave you am asking for more.

My Capricho Experience:

Arriving at the restaurant which was a stone throw from central line station Fairlop I was greeted by a friendly host who proceeded to offer me a choice of available seating.

One thing that intrigued me immediately was the simple yet eloquent settings, a simple design with an open plan kitchen and a bar at the front which is ideal for a small plate and a cocktail.

When it came to ordering for starters I had their signature grilled apricots with pan fried chicken which are in passion fruit sauce (£7.00), whilst for mains my eyes were immediately attracted to Bitoque a Capricho which is fried sirloin steak with a fried egg on top which is served which (£13.50), when it came to dessert I was ready to drop but a spot of strawberry flavoured ice cream went down a treat.

The Verdict: 5/5

“A little heaven of tongue tickling dishes in an incredibly affluent setting”

Experience cost: from £35 for three courses and a drink
