“Lest we forget” writes Kerri Mitchell

100 years ago today, people were dying on the fields of France.  Young, old, brothers, fathers and sons alike gave their lives so that we could be free.  This selfless  sacrifice has been made again and again in many campaigns since.

People may not like the Brexit result or that Donald Trump is the next President of the USA but we must  never forget that without their sacrifice we wouldn’t have a choice.

‘They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.’ – Robert Laurence Binyon,  1914″
