Clever quizzers put their grey matter to the test to raise money for a good cause.
Recruiters from SVC, accountants and business advisers from Wood and Disney and event organisers from Black Jacket were among the Essex business leaders who put their professional expertise to one side for the night to test their general knowledge.
The quiz night was organised by Colchester-based creative marketing agency KAT Marketing to raise money for the NSPCC and the event was staged at the stunning Wivenhoe House luxury hotel in Colchester.
Money raised will be donated directly to the NSPCC’s services in Essex which include specialist online safety courses in schools and colleges, supporting safeguarding and child protection measures and helping to ensure all staff, governors, volunteers and parents know how they can help keep children safe online.
A smorgasbord of questions was set by quizmaster Tim Field from Knights PLC covering areas including general knowledge, music, history, geography and some famous faces.
The evening proved to be a night of fun, friendship and laughter with teams of ten locked in friendly but keen competition as they battled it out for glory.
No one went home empty-handed, with a number of prizes awarded for top team name and a very creative Build a Bigger Boat round, which saw beautifully crafted boats tested out for buoyancy and ball balancing, with prizes generously donated by Fenwick, The Mercury theatre and Go Bananas among others.
KAT Marketing MD Katie Skingle said: “It was such a fantastic night and we are delighted to have raised well over £1,100 for the NSPCC. It is a charity which we have supported for many years and we know the money is crucial to help children who are in particular need.”
She added: “The atmosphere throughout the night was wonderful, with a keen but friendly rivalry. I know everyone had a brilliant time.
“We are proud to be at the heart of the community, whether that is taking part in 10k runs, careering down North Hill in the Colchester Soapbox Rally or finding the next star at Colchester Has Talent.
“We are already looking forward to staging our next community event.”
