Gail is a fantastic advocate for animals and will continue working with us to protect them. Gail is a long standing supporter of World Animal Protection. Gail has campaigned with us to end captive dolphins being used in shows to entertain tourists. This causes immense suffering for these intelligent sociable animals.
Gail has also highlighted the cruelty of factory farming, where sentient farmed animals such as pigs and chickens are kept in crammed together in squalid, confined conditions.
Gail said; “Animals don’t have a voice – but I do. I believe in a world where no animal suffers or experiences cruelty and where they are treated with kindness and respect. I want to work towards this happening.”
World Animal Protection, UK Country Director, Ruth Tanner said. “Gail is a fantastic supporter of World Animal Protection campaigning with us for the animals we help. We are so incredibly proud that she has now agreed to become a UK ambassador. Animals need all of us to protect them from suffering, cruelty and exploitation”
Gail has a much loved cat called Ziggy Stardust. Gail lives in London but was bought up in Edinburgh where she has a home.
Gail has had an incredible career, highlights including winning a BAFTA in 2020, interviewing David Bowie and presenting multiple television programmes.
