She’s a real talent with an intriguing sound,” says Mo Pleasure, the former musical director of Earth, Wind & Fire when describing the upcoming artist Georgia Crandon.

Only 21, the star is a prodigious talent from Essex with a huge voice, big bouffant hair and a cool little jazz band who is really getting herself noticed.

Georgia has been writing songs and playing the piano from the age of 10. With her band The Vintage Youth, this musical powerhouse is delivering a refreshing brand of music that smashes through the traditional genre barriers by mixing jazz with reggae and ska, ragtime and even pop.

In September, she will launch her new EP titled El Reco which pays homage to the Specials’ late trombonist Rico Rodriguez and will no doubt spark comparisons to musical luminaries past and present.

If Georgia’s fan base is growing day by day so too is her reputation amongst her peers. The good news is that neither will be disappointed by her phenomenal new album.

One thing for sure she has set herself up as one to watch.
