Birketts prepares to dish up at soup-erb fundraiser for Essex charities

UK Top 50 law firm, Birketts, is getting ready to dish up at its Essex Soup fundraiser in support of four local charities.

Taking place at Braxted Park Estate on Thursday, 19 June, the event will be hosted alongside Essex Community Foundation in aid of Alpha Vesta CIC, SAFE Essex, St Vincent de Paul society, Springfield, and Thurrock LGBTQ+ Network.

Since grassroots charities often struggle for funding and recognition compared to larger, established ones, this event aims to raise the profile of local charities to the Essex business community by showcasing their impact on the community and demonstrating how increased exposure and even small donations can significantly enhance their outcomes.

Over a three-course dinner, guests will hear from several inspiring charities and collectively decide how donations from the evening will be distributed among these deserving organisations.

Emma Brunning, Partner in the Family Team at Birketts LLP, said: “Our Essex Soup event is a fantastic opportunity for businesses across Essex to hear from, and show their support for, local charities. These charities are often making a huge impact on the community, yet don’t get the recognition or funding they desperately need.

“Guests on the night will have the chance to make a real difference to some local, worthwhile causes – all while enjoying a delectable dinner. We would urge all local businesses to get involved and register now.”

Andy Payne Worpole, Director of Policy and Programme for Essex Community Foundation, added: “We are delighted to partner with Birketts for this year’s Essex Soup event. It’s a brilliant and creative way to shine a light on smaller, grassroots charities that are doing vital work across our communities but are often overlooked for funding and recognition.

“Events like this are not only inspiring, but they are also a lifeline. Even modest donations, when combined with visibility and community backing, can have a transformative impact on these charities. We encourage everyone to come along, hear the stories, and be part of a night where generosity and local pride come together to make a tangible difference.”

The event is free to attend, but a voluntary donation towards the fundraiser of £75 per person is recommended. To register, visit: https://register.enthuse.com/ps/event/BirkettsEssexSoup2025
