Greater Anglia trains will call at additional stations to help people get home from Colchester Castle Park’s concerts this summer.
The calling patterns of some services has been amended to include extra stops as follows:
Thursday 20 (Billy Ocean) and Friday 21 August (Hollywood Vampires)
23:00 Colchester Town to Colchester is extended to London Liverpool Street, leaving Colchester at 23:24 calling at Marks Tey, Kelvedon, Witham, Beaulieu Park, Chelmsford, Shenfield, Romford, Stratford and London Liverpool Street.
22:18 Liverpool Street to Clacton will call additionally at Alresford and Great Bentley
22:56 Colchester to Walton-on-the-Naze will run slightly later from Colchester to Thorpe-Le-Soken

23:05 Clacton to Colchester extended to London Liverpool Street, departing Colchester 23:50 and calling at Chelmsford, Ingatestone, Shenfield, Stratford and London Liverpool Street – passengers to circulate via Chelmsford for intermediate stations between Colchester and Chelmsford

“We always try and support local events if we can. We know these events are very important to many of our customers, and we are very pleased to amend the calling patterns of services so people can leave the car at home and take the train.
“Services are expected to be busy, so passengers should plan ahead, allow plenty of time and buy their tickets before they travel.”
Customers are advised to use the full length of trains and platforms.
To save time and beat the queues, passengers are advised to buy tickets online or via the Greater Anglia app before they travel, and people travelling in groups of three or more can save money with GroupSave.

These extra trains are part of Greater Anglia’s planning to support major events and make rail travel easier for customers.
They also reflect the more coordinated approach being developed across GBR Anglia, with c2c, Greater Anglia and Network Rail Anglia now working under one leadership team to improve planning, strengthen day-to-day coordination and deliver a more joined-up railway for passengers across the region.
