Views wanted on proposed BMX track in Laindon

BMX’ers are being asked for their views on proposals for the borough’s first specialised track.

A proposal has been made to create a track in Victoria Park, Laindon.

Basildon Council are keen on hearing from local people with a keen interest in BMX’ing in order to find out how much interest this facility will generate.

We want to seek the views of local people from Laindon and further afield across the borough.

Should the proposal proceed, we want those who have engaged with us to help co-design the track.

Cllr Alan Ball, Basildon Council’s Chairman of the Regeneration and Environment Committee, said: “If we are to carry out these proposals we need to get the BMX community on board to ensure it is going to be of maximum benefit to the local community and really add value to our leisure offer in the borough.

“We opened a new skate park facility in Wickford last year which has been a huge success so we would want to emulate that in Laindon.”
