Spoon Guru and Tesco collaborate to aide customer dietary needs

Tesco have announced a partnership with Spoon Guru to evolve its online shopping experience for a growing population with specific dietary needs.

The Spoon Guru co-founder, Markus Stripf, explains how the partnership came about, and what lies behind the inspiration for creating Spoon Guru.

Stripf said “The relationship with Tesco developed just over a year ago, when Spoon Guru started using Tesco’s product data in our food search and discovery consumer app.”

He added “When we developed our pioneering food preference management solution Tesco immediately saw the potential to help customers. As a first in the UK’s grocery retail space, Spoon Guru now enables Tesco to address a core consumer problem: helping customers with their specific diets and tastes to quickly and easily find food they can eat.”

Anybody who has had to adapt to new eating habits finds, ingredients can be easily missed when reading labels and it is much harder to find suitable products. This exactly what this partnership hopes to combat.
